This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information when you visit omimports.co, apply for a trade account, place an order or contact us. We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Information we collect
Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect:
- Contact details: your name, business name, email address, phone number and delivery and billing addresses.
- Business details: your ABN, business type, website, the products you're interested in and your expected order volumes, as provided in a trade account application.
- Account information: your login details, trade account status and preferences.
- Order and payment information: the products you order, quotes, invoices, payment confirmations and delivery details. Card payments are processed by our payment providers; we do not see or store your full card number.

- Artwork and branding: logos and designs you give us for custom products.
- Device and usage information: your IP address, browser and device type, and how you use our website, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
We collect most of this information directly from you. We also receive some information automatically when you use our website, and from service providers such as Shopify, payment processors and delivery carriers.

Overseas disclosure
Some of the organisations we share information with are located outside Australia. Shopify and some of our technology providers store data in countries including the United States and Canada. Our manufacturing partners and quality inspectors are located in China. We will only send you marketing emails if you have agreed to receive them or if we are otherwise allowed to under the Spam Act 2003. Every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can also contact us to opt out at any time. We may still send you messages about your account and orders.
Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive information through unsecured channels.
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, including to meet our legal and tax record-keeping obligations, which generally require us to keep business records for five years.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask to access the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us. We may need to confirm your identity first. We will respond within 30 days.
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
